Policies

The gym clubs form part of Nailsea Methodist Church and their management structure is controlled by the Church Council. They are non-profit making charitable organisations.
Day-to-day control is in the hands of a dedicated group of professional and qualified coaches who have defined the following policies.
While it is our intention that all children will have fun, we would ask you to be aware that in order to ensure an acceptable standard of safety and behaviour:
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for their children's behaviour in the gym and other areas of the building
  • Parents/guardians of children aged 18 months to 3½ yrs will work with their children, encouraging them to participate in all activities. Children starting school at the next intake come into the gym hall without their parents and work with the coaches.
  • Children must not enter the hall unless permission is given by the coach
  • Do not allow your children to climb on apparatus until permission is given by the coach.
  • If you need any advice on anything connected with the session eg supporting and holding your child, PLEASE ASK
Nailsea Pre-School Gym Club 4
  • If your child is to be collected from the session by another person eg. grandma, PLEASE LET US KNOW AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SESSION
  • If your child is suffering from anything which may affect his or her performance in the gym eg. asthma, hearing loss, anxiety, IT IS IMPORTANT YOU LET US KNOW
  • Please ensure that your child is suitably dressed -
    • tracksuit or loose fitting clothing,  t-shirt, leotard. T-shirts with our logo are available from us and are priced at £4.
    • long hair tied back
    • bare feet
    • no hard badges or jewellery
  • Parents/guardians also ensure you are suitably dressed and wearing no shoes, or soft shoes you have brought to change into.
  • Parents/guardians please encourage participation in the warming up and cooling down by joining in.
  • Please do not bring older siblings to the gym if they are away from school due to illness. During school in-service days we allow older siblings to sit quietly and watch the gym, if they wish.
  • The safety of all children is of paramount importance therefore the coaches reserve the right to take whatever action is needed to ensure this and to discipline children should they deem it necessary.
  • The Health, Safety and Welfare policy is in the process of being re-developed and copies will be available from the club.
